The University of St. Francis was established in 1920 by the Congregation of the Third Order of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate for the education of its own members. We are a welcoming Catholic university rooted in the liberal arts, empowered by Franciscan values, and ever mindful of a tradition that emphasizes reverence for creation, compassion, and peacemaking. We strive for academic excellence in all programs, preparing women and men to contribute to the world through service and leadership.
We offer classes at locations throughout the country in nine different states, including our main campus in Joliet, as well as an innovative online presence. Our quality programs are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and we have been consistently ranked among the best colleges and universities by U.S. News & World Report.
